DOMINANT A Dominant is someone who wishes to express dominance over someone’s life. A Top is someone who wishes to play a dominant role during a scene. People can be either or both. But understand that being a Dominant is a huge responsibility, and your priorities need to be more noble than getting sexual gratification. It needs to be about helping, bettering, and protecting your Submissive. It involves an enduring power exchange dynamic that brings fulfilment to all parties involved. Leading a functional D/s relationship is hard and full of pitfalls. It’s better to learn from other people’s mistakes rather than make them yourself. Likewise, being a safe and competent Top requires a lot of skill and knowledge. Please take your time with this. If you try too much too soon, the D/s dynamic will implode. All your eagerness will be doing will be setting yourself for failure… So take a deep breath; think and plan long term. And remember: patience is a virtue. All players that want to have their Dominant take on more than one Submissive have to remember that their character is responsible for each of them. If they get into trouble then the Dominant does. If they need to meet quota then the Dominant is responsible for helping make that happen as per any contract agreements. A Dominant must have the means to financially support any Submissive that they take on (clothing, food, housing, etc). If the Dominant can do all of this then they can take on more Submissives.

SUBMISSIVE Always trust your gut. If something feels wrong it probably is. Intuition and common sense are your most valuable instincts. Look for the same personality/qualities you would look for in a vanilla partner. Be yourself. Never compromise who you are to gain the attention of a Dominant. Be clear and honest about what you are seeking in a relationship. Some Dominants will never love you and have no desire to fuck you. A good Dominant will make sure you feel safe at all times when meeting. Use common sense if ordered to have unprotected sex with strangers. Clean insertables yourself before and after they are used on you. Calling your safeword is not a sign of failure. It will help improve future scenes. Never tell a Dominant you have no limits. Pay attention to your physical/mental condition after scenes. Some subs need more aftercare than others. The most important protocol to learn is your own Dominant’s. Basic etiquette and manners are all that is required at most lifestyle events. Make sure you know all the rules of a specific event and don’t break them. Learn when to speak and when to be silent. Do not touch other people’s property (subs, toys) without permission. Never interrupt other people’s scenes (ie. touching, talking or laughing loudly) Don’t expect a Dominant to solve all your problems in life and never stop learning about yourself and ways to improve your submission. Don’t limit yourself to just one source of information. If you aren’t having fun, you are doing it wrong. It’s okay to be alone. Discover who you are in your submission.

Is sex exclusive, not exclusive, or somewhere in between?

Is the submissive allowed to work?

If you wish to dissolve your contract please PM the dupemods account. Three month contracts can only be dissolved if there are OOC issues between the players. ICly, you are welcome to play out your characters attempting to dissolve their contracts, but due to various legal hurdles and complications, the amount of time it would take to dissolve the contract would be equal to the time remaining in their contract. LIEs really doesn't want these contracts to break up, you know.

Permanent contracts can be dissolved ICly. When making a request for a Permanent Contract to be ended for non-OOC issues, include in the PM their reasoning and intention of dissolving the contract. At that time an automatic 3 month temporary contract will be enacted. This is a type of 'trial separation' from the City to see if the Dominant and Submissive can resolve their issues. After that 3 month contract ends, their Permanent Contract will be fully dissolved.

There is a difference though: unlike with standard contracts, there is no sympathy from LIEs for these couples who dissolve a permanent contract. There will be no 3 month grace period between contracts for the characters. They must use their 3 month trial separation instead to find a new contract or else they will end up in jail when their contract expires.
