I have been considering apping my guy here, who I have been playing as an OC in multiple different settings for something like 25 years; he has decades worth of character development and CRAU material to incorporate, but the problem is that I originally created him as an OC from a canon setting of a trilogy of books I read in middle school.
His origins are a canon setting, of a canon race in that setting, and he has been affected by the events of the main storyline in that the location where his race lived in that setting was destroyed. Otherwise, though, he has no part in that story's main events, he never met any of the canon characters, and certainly none of his backstory involves any influence he had on any of it because he simply didn't.
Does he still qualify as a fandom OC and thus is not appable? He has less to do with the canon or the fandom than the malleable protagonists or MMORPG player characters that are appable, and the vast majority of his history and development are completely original, so I thought it was worth a try to ask. Thank you for your time.
